“The trap isn't a trap if you know the trap is trying to trap you, it's a face-off.” Star-Lord
Guardians of the Galaxy is my favorite series of movies that Marvel released starting Phase 2. They have never disappointed, and I have a thing for antiheroes. I wanted to paint them based on their comic designs. One missing member, Rocket Raccoon, was damaged beyond repair during moves. Rest in peace, Rocket. You will join the team again with Nebula, Cosmo, and Mantis.

"Star-Lord, Master of the Sun" Measurements: 20 in wide x 16 in tall x 3/4 in deep ( 50.8 cm wide x 40.64 cm tall x 1.9 cm deep) Medium: Acrylic on Canvas This version of Star-Lord is from the cover of Legendary Star-Lord #1 by Steve McNiven. Here are some fun facts about Star-Lord. A lesser-known fact is that Peter was accepted into NASA's astronaut program at their first permanently manned space station. When on the mission, a celestial apparition appeared, calling itself a "Star-Lord" and saying that one of them could become a higher being like itself. Though Quill volunteered, NASA felt he needed to be suitable for the mission. Once back on earth, Quill stole a ship that was a living star, becoming a Star-Lord.

"Groot, Seed of Slaughter" Measurements: 20 in wide x 16 in tall x 3/4 in deep ( 50.8 cm wide x 40.64 cm tall x 1.9 cm deep) Medium: Acrylic on Canvas This version of Groot is from a panel, though I cannot track down the exact comic release and the artist involved. Here are some fun facts about Groot. He started as a villain and even fought the Hulk. In Guardians of the Galaxy #22, Groot merged with Venom Menedin, causing a mess on the ship. It took Drax to separate Groot from Venom.

"Gamora, Murderess" Measurements: 20 in wide x 16 in tall x 3/4 in deep ( 50.8 cm wide x 40.64 cm tall x 1.9 cm deep) Medium: Acrylic on Canvas This version of Gamora is based on J. Scott Campbell's Variant cover for Gamora #1. Here are some fun facts about Gamora. She has had a complex life. She is known as the Deadliest Woman in the Whole Galaxy, but Drax called her Murderess. She is an expert in any weapon and wielded the Godslayer sword, which, in theory, held an infinity stone. Gamora has been in Infinity Watch and the Guardians of the Galaxy, even getting cosmic powers of her own through the Black Vortex.

"Drax, The Destroyer" Measurements: 20 in wide x 16 in tall x 3/4 in deep ( 50.8 cm wide x 40.64 cm tall x 1.9 cm deep) Medium: Acrylic on Canvas This version of Drax is based on Ed McGuinness's Variant cover for Drax #1. Here are some fun facts about Drax. He started as a human named Arthur Douglas, with his wife, Yvette, and his daughter, Heather. Arthur's soul floated in space when Thanos infused it into a new form. Those forms changed a bit until the Drax we know and love today.
